This is possibly the first time contester has made it to the cover of CQ Magazine. Accompanying photo and write-up inside the issue:

This was done from the 3-story apartment building in Don Mills, Ont. with Inverted Vee antenna hanging from the TV tower atop of the building. Using FT-DX-400 and BTI-2000LK linear on loan from Ham, VE3BWY. After landing in VE3, the first piece of "furniture" was FT-DX-400, then for $5 scrapped typewriter desk from IBM, then came the mattress, utensils, dishes, etc. As they say: The rest is history!
